In 1997 I started my career as a photographer in a backstage room with Britpop legends, Blur. To celebrate twenty-one years of one of my all time favourite bands, here is a collection of a few of my favourite images, all digitally scanned with dust, scratches, and water-marks lovingly removed. Grab a very British cup of tea and take a look around.
Now I’m a Mum I’ve a delightful new subject. Taffeta Alice was born on the 12th April 2011 and is proving to be an inspiration every day. This gallery is a selection of photographs which explore my growing experiences as a Mother in a unique, sometimes edgy and often comical way. What a great excuse to spend lots of time with little Taffeta whilst STILL producing some original artwork! There will be lots of fun – just don’t expect the usual fluffy baby portraits spewed out by most photographers!
A selection of rock portraits. Whether it be live, backstage, studio or location, Kaiser Chiefs, Pete Doherty, Blur or Paul Weller. This section is an insightful glimpse into the life of a musician, from the unsigned to the ultimate household names.
This section showcases my newest work and the current love of my life – a series of photo-illustrations. An eclectic mix of photography and art which employs the surreal and the unreal. Using digital manipulation to create other-worldly places, from the fantastic to the bizarre.
Gaining a reputation as the ‘Carnie’s’ Favourite I have recently been taken on as the official photographer of the Circus of Horrors and as a result have spent many highly unusual days on tour with the bizarre goth-rock theatre troup. Describing themselves as a mixture of Rock, Horror and Mayhem, The Circus of Horrors must be seen to believed!
Over the past few years family and friends have, on occasion, asked if I would photograph their wedding day. This news has spread quickly and now veritable strangers ask me to record their big day too! I adopt an imaginative and inspired approach which moves away from the traditional and overly tried and tested.
A series of commercial and advertising images. This is a fairly new section which will be added to over the following few months. I like the challenge commercial photography offers – to sell a product or an idea through the use of the visual only. If done well advertising really should produce some inspirational imaging.
Sometimes celebrity, sometimes models, sometimes myself; here is a collection of portraits which do not rightly fit anywhere else. I’m not saying that some of these people can’t play the recorder or get high on Guitar Hero but I am saying thay aint no rock star.
